Earth: The New World
"No matter where you go, there you are."Buckaroo Banzai
-
I The End
Their world was torn asunder
And there’s no more song or dance
But a few had escaped their fate
To live out a second chanceThe departure had been pre-arranged
For this eternal flight
They followed closely a distant star —
An ever-guiding light… -
II The Voyage
Time was all that they had left…
-
III Pilgrims
Their voyage had been slow
And they floated through the air
They were so close yet far away
And beginning not to careThey soon thereafter found themselves
On a warm, climatic place
No more dull and lonesome hours
Spent in grueling spaceThey set foot on their new found land
Gave it a fitting name
They sowed it full of useful crops
And turned the wildlife tameNow these pilgrims from another world
Had established a new home
They charted it from east to west
And divided it into zones… -
IV The New World
“Everything we need is here
We can live without doubt or fear
Do away with wrath and tears“We’ve discovered a brave new world
Let the banners be unfurled”This paragon of living
Gave birth to Love and Giving
Everyone was satisfied
With all their lives so unifiedThey all lived in harmony
Danced and sang triumphantly
All together and freeThe sky was blue with cheer and love
As their God watched from aboveThey worked and played in open fields
And traded samples of their yields
Gorged themselves at every meal
Life on Earth was so idealThey worshiped trees and hills afar
Gave pleasant names to all the stars
And let go pre-developed scarsBut soon the Love had turned to Greed
And the flowers turned to weeds… -
V Divided Continents
The valleys had divided
But the oceans rumbled on
As the ground and sky collided
The memories of Love were goneThis ancient land of paradise
Had begun to waste away
This wondrous land of happiness
Had somehow gone astrayThe conflict of the Ages
Had made them unaware
That they were tearing up their world
And far beyond compareNo one seemed to notice
That there was nothing at peace
With silent screams of suffering
And riots in the streetsThe sun turned its head
As all of the Earth turned red
The greatest evil had led
Them into the ground instead… -
VI The Battle of Aergonia
Transformed into a holy Hell
Aergonia was all but dead
The need of always having more
Had vaporized their stead
Destruction now was all they knew
There was no hope at all
And everything for which they’d lived
Once rose and now would fallWhen the smoke had risen
And the dust had cleared… -
VII The Beginning
…The scars of the battle
had all but disappearedA handful of frightened ones
Fled to escape their fears…They climbed aboard their mighty ships
Set sail to the sky
Taking with them memories
Ignorant of the ancient tryTo the other end of the universe
So they can be alone
To get away from their parent land
And start one of their own…
